I've been with Liberty Animal Hospital for several years. The doctors are experienced, and very good with the clients. The staff is wonderful and they all take time to answer your questions and support you with your concerns. They are very gentle with our pets, as they are with all the other ones. I give them five out of five hearts. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Do not take your animals here and DO NOT PREPAY for services. If I could rate you a ZERO, I WOULD!
We adopted a dog from a family who could no longer care for her. They prepaid for her care to include her spay. Prior to us adopting her, they verified with Liberty Vet that her spay would transfer to us, and we were thankful for that. Since we rescue German Shepherds, we were thankful for the savings on the cost of the surgery.
We called Liberty Animal Hospital in August 2025 to schedule a visit with the vet to review her health and review the terms of the spay. We unfortunately, had a very upsetting experience. She was traumatized after being aggressively handled by the staff and we were left wondering if we should return for the spay, even though it was free.
We have been waiting for our dog to mature, as we have been advised to do, until her second birthday, which was on May 5, 2026. I called Liberty Animal Hospital today to schedule her spay or at least talk to them about what we need to do, since I am aware that they recently lost their doctor.
I was not impressed at all with whomever answered the phone. I was told that she had consulted with whoever was in charge now and the spay agreement stayed with the former owner, it didn’t travel with the dog. I objected to this. Why would a prepaid spay stay with a person and not the dog? I told them that we would call the former owner and have her weigh in on this as I know she called the vet and spoke with someone. I had all her records at home, not on the call, so I also thought upon review that I could get the persons name with whom she had spoken to originally. Regardless, why would a spay (prepaid in advance, stay with a HUMAN?!?). The second issue, the person told me on the phone, was that the spay “contract” expired in August, 2025. A fact the office never mentioned when we called for an appointment in August 2025 when we scheduled the appointment and we actually were in office for the appointment in August 2025. When I told them that we had no knowledge of this, they acted like this wasn’t their problem and moved on to issue number 3 and that was that their doctor was no longer around to preform the services of said contract, even if they were willing to fulfill the terms of the agreement.
While I had been sympathetic to their loss prior to the call, all sympathies went out the door because I was remembering the trauma this office had subjected my dog to in their office and I told the office person this.
I said that we have been weighing the pros and cons of just sucking up the cost of the spay and having our amazing vet at Four Corners Animal Hospital take care of her like they do the rest of our pack, but in light of the current economy, we decided to make an appointment to discuss our concerns with Liberty Vet and at least give them a chance to make things right according to their contract and commitment to this dog.
The person on the phone was unconcerned and sounded like “oh well, sucks to be you” with my concerns.
Fair warning to the public. Do not prepay for any services with this company. You will be robbed. We should have been told in August when we called, and when we were there for the appointment if there was an expiration date for the spay, since that was the ONLY reason that we were there. Otherwise we would have gone to our normal, trusted vet.
Shame on you Liberty Animal Hospital. As I said on the phone, obviously, the doctor’s death is a great blessing to the community. Because the cruel treatment and theft can now hopefully stop.
The dog in question is in the center of the photo. When we adopted her, she was named Bella, we have since renamed her Beauty. She is thriving. In case her family sees this, her favorite things to do is run outside and play with one of her many balls or snuggle up inside with her kitten. Thank you for gifting us with this loving animal. We are forever grateful for the gift of love.
Very nice people, they have been our main vet for as long as I can remember, they care more about animals than any other place we have taken our pups too, and they always try to save us money.
